How to create a memorable three-word link
A long web address is hard to read aloud or put on a presentation slide. UseLink gives it a name made of words, such as japan.spring.trip. That is an example of a name, not a reserved link.
Create your link in three steps
- Paste the destination into UseLink’s free link creator.
- Accept the suggested words, or choose your own. The suggestion alone does not create a link.
- Create the link, then copy it or share it from the result.
Choose words your audience can type
Use familiar words with obvious spelling. For a travel itinerary, a name such as japan.spring.trip is easier to describe than a random string of letters. Say the dots when reading the link aloud. Dot and dash versions resolve to the same saved link.
For presentations and classrooms
Create a link to your slides, reading list or form before the session. Put the complete UseLink address on the screen and test it from a browser that is not signed into the destination. A short link does not change a file’s access permissions.
For livestreams and videos
Use a memorable name for a resource mentioned on air. Read it aloud, show it on screen, and put it in the description or a pinned comment. Viewers can type the words even when a clickable link is not immediately available.
For documents and shared files
UseLink accepts HTTP and HTTPS addresses, including public document links. It redirects to the original location; it does not upload, copy or publish the file. If the original document requires permission, the recipient will still need that permission.
How suggestions work
UseLink tries to read a public page title and selects words from it. If it cannot read the page, it uses words from the URL or random memorable words. It does not log into accounts, read private documents, or use a language model to summarize full files. Always review a suggested name before creating it.
Is it shorter than every URL?
Not necessarily. Three words can be longer than a compact random code. UseLink is designed for recognizable, sayable addresses. You can also choose a shorter custom name when it is available.
